Šumarice Memorial Park, also known as Kragujevac October Memorial Park, is the site near Kragujevac, Serbia. It's a memorial complex dedicated to the victims of the massacre in Kragujevac, carried out by German forces in October, 1941. Over 2,700 civilians, including high school students and teachers, were executed in the massacre. The massacre also had an effect on the course of the war in Yugoslavia.
"Krvava bajka" (English: "A Bloody Fairy Tale") is a famous poem by Serbian poet Desanka Maksimović, written in memory of the massacre. It mourns the brutal execution of civilians by German forces in 1941. It's notably famous in the Serbian literature, symbolizing the suffering of the Serbian people.
