Bus line 1 (Klisa – Centar – Liman I) is the urban line of JGSP Novi Sad, connecting the residential area of Klisa in the north with Liman I district located in the south. The line serves as a vital route for daily passengers, linking residential areas with central business, shopping, and cultural zones.
One of the line variants passes by the Novi Sad County Jail, a regional correctional facility in Serbia, which serves both as a detention center for individuals awaiting trial and as a place for the execution of prison sentences. This prison is important for maintaining law and order in the area.
Throughout the protests, Klisa was commonly referenced as the location of the prison. It also references government officials who would likely end up detained there. Over time, it came to represent both the literal site of imprisonment and a metaphor for accountability during the demonstrations.
