This is a Christmas gift for a dear friend in acrylics, at a loss as to how to finish it off so would appreciate any feedback or suggestions. Either I leave it black behind the Elephant or not. I want to add mist around his feet but also need to research how using acrylic...please help and thanks

How about a sparse forest...then he would have something to eat....kinda like ghost trees
Nivek, this is incredibly beautiful elephant!
She walks at the night through deep african valleys and sees milky way in the sky!
For the mist you need to use "dry brush technique", this is when brush is wiped quite well and then mushed into canvas. That residual paint will create misty areas. Use older brush for that as you will need to rub it quite hard.

My goodness, this is already very breathtaking to me!
Personally, I would not add anything, or it would be some very shy bushes/rocks in the front, nothing in the sky!
