So, I followed Nic Hankins for this one. Not crazy about the clouds and I hate the mid-ground rocks. I LOVE the waterlines and the beach. I have always had trouble double-loading the brush so I made the rocks on the beach with the filbert then added the highlights. Didn’t care for them either until I added the shadows. Overall, I don’t hate it, just with my rocks were better.

Actually love the clouds and big rocks! I think they are some of the best features of this piece.

This is lovely. Love the moody sky. The rocks show a clear progression of value and detail, mass tones/impasto as we get closer -- this all helps them work.
