While I appreciate your concern, the sight does offer the option to look or not?I can see the massive difference in art applications, but at the same time it was Bob's thought for each individual artist to express his or her own imaginations through this crazy wonderful world of color, vision and dimension. These last few images are also Halloween intended and are a bit creepy. My intension was not to offend but to offer the option to get a bit scared, shocked and maybe chilled to the bone. After all, thats what Halloween is all about!.Cheers,P

Helzmightyoak, in defense of Pietro he is right about your right and the rights of others NOT to look at any art on here which may offend the more sensitive, however the site owners do not have a censorship policy so Pietro and anybody else wishing to post images of an adult nature should be able to do so without worrying about those not wishing to view it. Pietros commentary on his art is as expressive as the art itself and is really tame in comparison to what people are viewing all over the internet these days, Pietros art is not pornographic if that is the suggestion here, artists have been depicting the naked form for hundreds of years and many of our most highly regarded artworks are depicting nudity.

I guess you have rights to post what you want to but other users of this website also have the right to find some of it uncomfortable and offensive. My take on it as a woman, is that HelzMightyOaks was asking you to consider that you may be offending some people and possibly to adjust what you load or how you blur it going forward. For example, a couple of months ago an image called Capelli was uploaded, unblurred, which I found really uncomfortable. Not because it was a nude, but because it was so sexualised.

I do not profess to be an art aficionado but the classic images of the naked female form that I have seen that could be considered 'sexy' are usually females in repose alone rather having the domination of a male figure in them.

May be a provactive question... but if this is not a sexualised image, then why did it illicit the comments that it did?

Pietro1963 Master of Monsters

Grazie Tel for your insight and support.I say again,My intent was not to offend.I am indeed exploring my imagination and growing talent as an artist.I appreciate all comments and points of view from everyone on this wonderful site.I wish all a great journey towards immense growth and success as artists.P

I want back and looked at the "Capelli" image.A woman in a bikini ..I don't see how that would offend anyone?

I didn't say I was offended, I said I found it uncomfortable as it was so sexualised, eg she looks like a stripper. I support your right and freedom to draw what you want to but it would be really nice to see some of your drawings that maybe show women in a less objectified light. You may not mean to cause offense, but now that it has been pointed out to you that you might be, maybe you could take that into account going forward?

Pietro1963 Master of Monsters

HelzM..I hear you.I will take those thoughts to heart my friend.Again, not seeking to offend.Grazie,P

Please take the time to read Voy kays article of october 2020,"should a Bob ross site show all kinds of paintings" and why she feels freedom of expression is important to her

Pietro1963 Master of Monsters

I READ THAT A WHILE BACK T..GRAZIE..I feel like I did something wrong here?

Let's just courteously agree to disagree and move on. It is not the nudity that is uncomfortable, rather the recurring theme of the subjugation of women that in 2021 feels discordant. I accept this may not be the intention but just maybe be aware that that is how it is sometimes perceived - hence this conversation. Happy painting and drawing all.

Pietro1963 Master of Monsters

Hey.I hear and understand everyone's thoughts on my art work.As I said earlier,I will keep in mind all that has been voiced.Regards,P

OK, so Pietro just wants to draw a line under it (pardon the pun) like Pietro i feel it was a debate worth having and i also would like to hear Felixs thoughts

Pietro1963 Master of Monsters

Yes T..I mentioned it my last drawing, but then withdrew the request..Feeling weird about it..Guess I'll be seen as a bit of an outlaw here, lol

REBEL !....Don't concern yourself, not so long ago it was me, it's a narrow line you walk sometimes when you say or do anything which might be deemed controversial by the... shall we say "less broad minded"

My dear community members,

I've taken some time to read through all the comments here and reflect on the different viewpoints. Thank you all for your input!

I will take some time this weekend to formulate better guidelines on which paintings need to be tagged and blurred. I will also add an option to completely remove NSFW-tagged paintings from one's timeline, not just blur them.

Until then I'd like to ask everyone to err on the side of caution when tagging their uploads and rather be too strict when considering what is considered erotic or not.

I hope this way I can find a solution to create a welcoming environment for all members, without taking artistic freedom and choice away from anyone that wishes to explore more explicit subjects.

Thank you Felix - that feels like a very measured and fair compromise position.

Pietro1963 Master of Monsters

Grazie Felix. On my end I am already in touch with myself on these issues and will be selective and thoughtful of different tastes and views of fellow artists. Thanks for your input.Cheers,P
