This is my first completely original painting.
All I had, when starting, was a vision, and I knew what color I wanted to use.
This painting is done on a black gesso canvas that was coated with a thin layer of a 50/50 mixture of paint thinner and linseed oil (very thin layer).
I put masking tape where I wanted the horizon to be, and started by applying a thin coat of viridian to the sky near the horizon. Above the viridian I coated the canvas with phthalo blue and in the corners I put a bit of prussian blue (all transparent colors), I mirrored this for the water.
The clouds are a very dark bluish lavender color.
I very happy with how it turned out, not the composition I had in mind when starting but still turned out good. It was a lot of fun, more fun than following a Bob Ross video.
Let me know what y'all think.
