Art journey in time: Urban scene

Sunnylady 23 Jun 2021

This is done between 17-20 years ago. I don’t remember when.

Tel inspired to post it after I saw the city and his youth masterpiece. Tel, thanks for your article about art journey!

This is ink on paper, layered. It is under glass so no way to take photo without my reflection in it.

Size is 40x50cm apx.

This is very much in the same vein as the Trevor grimshaw paintings that inspired my two urban/ industrial paintings.Living in Salford, Manchester this type of scene has been the backdrop to my whole life and i often feel i prefer these settings to the "modern world" or maybe i'm just seeing things through rose tinted glasses....great work Sunnylady!

Thanks a lot tel! I wish I had such supportive community back then, I think I would not become chemist :)

Thanks Tom, that was quite a long time ago. We had kids magazine about making art and step-by step guidance and were buying those magazines time-to-time. I liked investigating those pages and see what I can do with the materials I had. This one was idea from that magazine. This was on parents home walls for many years.

Thank you Guna! I remember that this one was a lot of fun and pleasure in seeing final result!

This reminds me of my own home town. I live in a steel city with lots of industry. Great job ..love the layers. Amazing how 20 years ago can be compared still with today.

Thank you LJM!
