I found the photo I liked on the internet. Surely I had to modify my painting, because not every photo turns to be good for painting. Challenge on the photo was to figure out where the light was coming from and how to obtain that tricky orange( thanks Bob he already had the recipe !). Size 40 by 60 cm, brushes used 10 to 15 different types for light and dark colors. Time spent: day 1- 2 hours, day 2- 3 hours. Day 3 - 4 hours. 1 hour to clean brushes after finishing with white spirit and baby oil. I had to do this for few days as my canvas absorbs oil annoyingly well. So first day I applied linseed oil and then liquid white and I could not control it. Day 2 brought the challenge with mountains as I dont have pallet knife. However day 3 gave me not lesser challenges with figuring the background color. Overall I am very happy with all the hard work and time I invested in this painting.

Mountains and trees are very detailed, as is the sky who looks like a photograph. An A++ painting!

Thank you!

Really well done. I am glad to hear about your journey branching out from Bob's compositions. All the elements in this painting come together nicely to create a pleasing, realistic landscape!

It looks like all paintings Bob did from his imagination or from photos he got in mail are exactly the scenes I find most attractive for me to paint. I was actually surprised how that photo that I liked is exactly what Bob has already painted in two different episodes.

Thank you Dracula! Appreciate your feedback!

The mountain is eye catchingly realistic with its shadowed dihedrals and ridgelines...I feel like I could hike right up that mountain. This came out amazing and I love that you are picking different compositions while inspired by the episodes!!

@bob_ross_watercolors: thank you very much! I just today went to your Instagram, learnt that you love hiking and climbing and saw how you do plein-air and I was totally amazed!
