@Voy. If you see this, i think you may take a look at the trees to to see if that will be helpful with your big project with the girl in an alley. What i understood here that trimmed trees still have brunches starting at different height and that some air is needed to show there is less leaves in the bottom (and on the top). I know you angle is different, but may be it still will be helpful.

Tops of the trees was the biggest challenge here. One can see I was struggling. Also it was difficult to create shadow-light-shadow-light on the vertical part in the dark opposite of the sun. Reference photo however could show it. May be it was excessive to try to show it here.

Now I see it is not bad, but I know I can do better.

Thank you Tom! Sky was tricky as I used paper and it has very smooth surface and when Ii had to use fingers to smooth the light and shadows in the sky it was getting through all layer to my black gesso. ( I have only that one as somehow black canvas are way too more expensive than whites, thus, I just give it a layer of black gesso).

Wow wow wow!! This is just beautiful. I love the sun shining thru the tree and around the clouds. Great clouds too. This looks exactly like a sky I have seen before many times thinking how lovely it looks. Very nicely done.!!

Dear Sunnylady, precious friend. I will take that advice from you and combine it with Jin7's tip on how to improve my disaster painting. Hopefully soon, I will be able to work on it and show it here.
Many thanks for your help and advice!!!

Voy, we may think how to paint together over skype at one of the fridays or weekends.

Voy, I read it. I cannot remove it as comment posted by you. We only can remove our own comments. Please do it from your end.

Okidoki! Till soon my friend!

It looks like we have only 3 hours difference. I thought it was 5. So it is not bad. We will work something out. I will contact you.

Looking forward to that! :) :) :)

congratulations a Super painting .. really Love it ..

I am just working on sun and clouds type painting in acrylics as well, I can only hope it turns out anything like yours .. Happy painting .. still looking for oil over acrylic episode from chuck black .. watching all his videos again to find it !!

Thank you David! I think your progress with acrylics is impressive! I am sure it is possible to make super nice skies with it as we already start seeing in your works. But it is way more work to achieve some certain effects. But in opposite I think that strikes of light and shadows would be easier in acrylics.

David check this out. I was searching a bit about oil over acrylics in the internet. So to summarize this article in couple of words, thinnest layer of acrylics on canvas panel.

David, I think this is the source article. https://www.goldenpaints.com/technicalinfo/technicalinfo_oil_over_acrylic

Really magnificent value study. Additionally the atmospheric depth and perspective are spot-on. I particularly like the edge lighting in the clouds. Really great work!

Felix, I'm not sure what it should be, but it seems to me that @SunnyLady really ought to have a special tagline!

Hear hear 👍

Dracula, thanks! I am still learning, it seems value perfection can take forever. Every time there is something new I find, or something I forgot already :)
