Although it is a pencil drawing, the texture of stone, wood, metal is well exposed.
Well done!

Thank you Jin.

Oh wow I really like you posted a drawing! It's beautiful! So talented!

Voy Kay Conqueror of Challenges

A true artist can create anything! SUPER Sunnylady! The texture, like Jin mentioned, is very realistic and so well thought over!
My standing ovation for your drawing skills my friend!!

Thank you PaintRML. Felix gave us opportunity to post various media and since I am implementing my plan to do 3 weeks long oil painting and I have some extra time left and and only have one canvas left I thought why not to draw. This was quite easy as object is black and gray mostly so values are really nicely seen. Challenge is ahead. Tulips if I get brave to attempt with pencil will be a challenge.

I think I will do Bill Alexander's Sunset IV on my last canvas.

Voy thank you very much. I was sitting in the yard in fact in front of the well. I was thinking to paint a plein-air at some point since March. I was just waiting for a good weather. Weather came, but canvases gone. :) So here it is pencil, also quite interesting I bought those pencils in 2013. They were waiting for me my wonderful pencils.

But don't worry I found one shop that delivers from Moscow to my town. I guess in 2 weeks I'l be equipped to continue.

I ordered tons of different brushes as well as hog bristle brushes wear out quite fast.

dracula Power Painter

Really excellent! Particularly the stone textures. Pencils drawing are such a wonderful, fundamental form of expression!

Thank you Dracula!
How are your studies of Hudson, Barbizon and tonalism going?

dracula Power Painter

Good, thank you for asking! I am working on a small study after John Constable right now. I think it should start coming together in my next painting session. I am painting it on a panel with canvas laminated to it, which is kind of the best of both worlds for me. It's rigid and easy to work on with the canvas texture offering great adhesion.

I don't always have time to comment... But today I do. This is just incredible. I haven't done any pencil sketches in a long time (since highschool) you are making me think of trying it out again.

LJM, of course go for it! I ran out of canvas and had to switch to paper and pencil for a while. It is quite a rewarding exercise especially if you can sketch being outside and look at values and see the colors. For example, before the well I was working on the apple tree (not posted) and suddenly wile deciding what darkness to go for i started seeing that shadow on the body of the tree is purple. I was speechless. I truly thought it was just an artistic enhancement to make painting nicer, but turned out that I never took enough time to OBSERVE things.

I totally agree. I often take pictures(photos ) of "random things" when i am outdoors because of the interesting features to study...and it is amazing then when i see a tutorial of Bobs and he is painting the same thing. Like the sun shining thru many trees, or a misty area along a pathway. I need to dig to find my sketch book now..

Love this, wow your work is awesome

Outstanding!! Excellent attention to detail. Lights and darks in all the right places. Beautifully done. 👍

@ Dracula- looking forward to it. I looked in the morning about that artist. It is very interesting to see and hear about your discoveries.
@LJM looking forward to see your sketches/drawings!
@MariaLouiseArtwork - thank you very much! Try pencil drawing if you have time it is very interesting and challenging at the same time.
@Froggie - thank you, this was pure joy, I am happy that I finally achieved black color in the pencil drawings. If you saw my pencil drawing from one year ago, you would say "feels like not enough shadows". I was resisting to add black as it seemed dark enough, oh my, how wrong was I. I am glad that I am learning!

Wow, This is really good work! you are very good at pencil drawing.

Thank you Madame Mouton. Sometimes it is great to switch to practice and to improve on the painting, as every recent painting has at least some drawing in it.
