I can’t decide if this is good or if it looks like a 3rd grader did it.
I wanted to do it kind of abstract. I used this impasto wax and palette knife for the first time, it was fun!
My kids said it doesn’t look realistic but that was kind of the point. Haters.

This is an incredible painting, because of the chosen subject (very difficult to paint), the title (that moment is the main action) and the way it is painted (the public abstract, they are less important, the main player is the star and more detailled painted, his face is phantastic, also the bucket on the foreground is great), a painting is happily not a photo!

This is really good Tessa. It’s so cool you took the risk to do something so creative. Based on how you described what you were trying to do I feel you did it. I can feel the action of the moment with the focus on the ball and net. Everything else is background. Well done!

I'm fascinated by the whole thing. You could argue it's very realistic. All that matters right at that moment is who's got the ball. Everything else is a blur.
