Here's one I did a few years ago, found it while having a clear out. I remember I enjoyed the colour of this one. It was really easy on a black canvas.

Thank you Jin. Unfortunately the sky background dried with a shine on it that I don't like. I applied minimum amount of oil but maybe should have used more colour over the top. I've noticed it can be an issue when using black canvas if you're not careful.
You're absolutely right. I think adjusting the amount of paint when using a black canvas is difficult.
Its like trying to see in the dark isn't it. Transparent colour over liquid clear on black gesso, what could possibly go wrong?🤣
Applying liquid clear over a black canvas and then painting transparent colors on top is difficult without experience in judging the right amount. Since I have a classroom setting, explaining this individually to each student during class is impractical, so I prepare pre-mixed liquid clear for them to use.
When you want to achieve more vivid colors, one method is to apply black gesso and other acrylic paints as a base coat.
