Look for 'the grandeur of summer' on YouTube. It's a one hour long Bob Ross special episode where he really goes into details on how to do his technique

Practice,practice,practice and more practice,plus lots of money for paints and gesso. Cut cardboard the size of canvas. Gesso them and practice on them. I do it the dumb way,,, I just blow money on canvases. Lol

What can really give some help are the Bob Ross tutorials. There's about 4 of these in the database (one from Bob, one from Dana, one from Steve, and a reference to Youtube where you can find Bob's tutorial of one hour).
There are quite some techniques explained in detail and Bob also talks about materials to use.
