Oils on canvas
This one is based on a picture I found on the internet.
I loved the contrast of the foggy background and blueish tree trunks with the bright orange leaves, so I decided to give it a go.
I stretched the canvas myself and primed it with several layers of gesso and I did a grey-brown underpainting with acrylics and gesso, as a sort of sketch.
I painted the rest with oils during a two-day art fair.
However... when I had put some oily medium on it, it disappeared in no time. So I either needed more layers of gesso (perhaps one glue layer) or I should have used Liquid Clear.
But Liquid Clear yellows like crazy within a few months so I didn't really want to use it for this painting, fearing it might yellow the blueish background and trees...
Anyway, the background was made using brushes and when the canvas was almost dry again (and this was just a few hours after I started painting) I decided to switch to knife-only.
That was the happy accident of that day, because I like how it turned out in the end.
Beautiful! I love the Fal colors in contrast to the gray foggy mist!
