"Icy Birches"

An experiment with transparent gesso and a vignette look.
The brown in the background is the natural colour of the canvas.
I often stretch my own canvasses and I do use primed cotton these days.
But I like the natural colour of the fabric which looks a lot like actual canvas fabric.
So I stretched it the other way around this time.
A limited palette is used: titanium white, prussian blue, phthalo blue, cobalt blue and Van Dyke brown.
