Oil on canvas
45x60cm

This one took me a while to finish.
I guess this is the more traditional way of working with oils: paint dries before putting on a new layer.
At some point I was soooooo tempted to just take the 2 inch brush and tap in the stuff on the ground. LOL!

Based on a photograph I found on the internet.
The extra images show several WIP versions.

This is a beautiful painting! Well worth the time and patience for many sessions. I was watching a Bill Alexander video the other day, I think it was Alaskan Mountain, and he talks about how when you first start painting it is so pleasing to get to the finish but after you paint for a while that doesn't matter anymore.

Simply gorgeous! Love all the stages...thank you for that!

Thanks for sharing your steps

It is a superb work, as per your high quality standard.

I love this. You have used value very well here to show depth and atmosphere. Your trees are so varied. Great stuff!

The realism is stunning! Beautiful painting Titia!!! 😍
