I painted that one on Saturday. It is the next one from 'The magic of oil painting' book by Bill.
These kind of scenes are repeating quite often in Bills tutorials, i.e. far away mountain and a lake in front with Autumn colored trees. But I think these scenes are very nice to paint and they are very popular.
I used Prussian blue as most of the times. And I love the Cadmium Orange from Lukas, a very bright orange and against the Prussian blue it looks amazing in my opinion.
I painted this within 70 minutes in total, I think I am getting faster every week :)
Oils on canvas panel 16 x 24 in (40 x 60 cm)
Thanks Brian. Yes every painting is unique, especially in the Alexander technique. If you do not premix colors and not draw the basic shapes, then one picture will never look like the other. :)
Looking great. <3
I like how the water reflection is darker than the sky. Bob tends to make the reflection lighter, but whenever I see the sky reflected in the water, it is almost always a tad bit darker in the reflection.
I've looked into Bill's work, and noticed his style is much rougher. I like that about his work and you captured it well.
Beautiful, indeed super those orange trees and bushes.
Thank you Titia. I have told it often, Bills loose style fits me much more than Bobs. I like the loose paintings much more.
And Bill cares also much more about light than Bob does.
Thank you Jos, orange against blue is my favorite color combination.
This is perfect Bill Jr. I would have sworn Bill Sr. painted it!
Very beautiful! Love the colors and the composition!
That's beautiful Tom! Those colors pop against the blue indeed! What type of brush do you use to make your foliage?
Another beauty Tom..Wow!
beautiful fall colors!
Thank you Tomi, I hope he would be happy with it😀
Thank you Sandy, glad you like it!
Many thanks Nancy. I only use 1 inch brushes for foliage, nothing else. I have two Bob Ross one inch brushes, one for dark and one for light colors. This saves me a lot of brush cleaning.
I haven’t found a better one available in Europe, I‘d love to have an Alexander Art one but no chance to get it here😢
Thank you P! Greetings from Austria 🇦🇹
Thank you Jessie!
"Wow." That was my first thought when I saw this. Great painting.
So vivid, just beautiful Tom.
Thank you Alex!
Many thanks Tony!
Super Tom , it looks like an Original of Bill 👍🏼🇩🇪🇦🇹
Wow thanks Dirk, this is really an honor.
This is beautiful! I love the colors . Your reflections are amazing!
Thank you Lc, I am glad you like it!
WOW so fantastic! That bold blue is so crisp. I love the water reflections and the floating leaves!
Thank you Pam. Prussian blue is the blue to take if you want to have it more intense.
WOW! I love everything about this one!
Thank you Matt!

This is so beautiful and crisp! I love it and the composition repeats as you mentioned but they’re all unique in my opinion. Great work Tom!
