I allow myself to call this an original, even the arrangement of the painting is inspired by 'Moonlight Mirage' by Bill Alexander. I finished this yesterday evening, it was the second session just for a few finishing touches.
The bridge is similar to Bobs The footbridge.
I like monochromatic pictures and buildings. Especially buildings are my most favorite part to paint. That's why I always put them in my original paintings. The few lights shining through the windows are the only color spots who break the prussian blue hue. Painting was done on liquid/magic white.
Oils on canvas panel 20 x 28 in (50 x 70 cm)
Beautiful scene Tom! Your cabins look awesome! Interesting story can be imagined on what is going on there and how those people meet each other.
A real masterpiece Tom! It seems so calm and cold. Though, the cabins look warm and cozy. Love your shadows. It really brings realism to the painting.

Thank you Sunnylady. Your thoughts about the people in the cabin and their life are exactly the same I always question myself when I paint such cabins. I also often like two of them in a painting to go a bit deeper into that :)

Outstanding piece overall. Love the cold feeling with the general blue hues and the reflections of the moon on the water, cabins, and trees are really well done. It definitely makes me want to be tucked away in one of those warm cabins!
