I like fire in the sky and Bill gives me that fire π.
Very nice episode. Really easy once you got the sky right. But tough to make a good picture of it. As always with the dark paintings.

Super Tom, Looks Great ππΌπ
Gorgeous Tom! The light reflection in the clouds is sublime!
Thanks very much Terry!
Thanks a lot Dirk. I am glad you like it ;)
Many thanks Nancy. The sky is the main thing here. Hard for me to not overblend it but I think it worked out well.
Awesome scene and love that sky!
GREAT SKY T!
Many thanks Brian.
Thanks a lot P!
gorgeous clouds!
Tom, do you prep your canvas with gesso prior to painting?
Beautiful sky so full of layers of lights and darks!
Spectacular sky!
Thank you Jessie.
I never prepared Pure white canvases, Nancy. Only those which have an underpainting or are simply black.
Thank you Pam. These are the skies from Bill I like most.
Thanks Jos!
Gotcha! I think that was my issue with my crimson. I prepped a canvas only once with gesso on an already black canvas and my crimson was showing thru no problem. As far as my campfire and twilight beauty, I painted straight off the canvas (no gesso prep). That could be the issue here. What do you think?
Really beautiful! The sky is on fire! Just fabulous!
Very nice
Ok Nancy, but to be honest I am not quite sure if I understood you right? I meant I only apply one layer of black gesso, no white ever. Do you mean you do an additional layer of gesso then?
Thank you Sandy!
Thanks a lot Coldethel.
