Mountain Mist - Bill Alexander

Tom0779 25 Aug 2023

I love painting fog. With watercolors it is one of the nicest things to do. Here I followed an other tutorial by Bill.
He has some lessons available where he doesn’t paint that sunshine weather but also something different. I really like that. It was a rather easy painting, finished within 2 hours but I think the outcome isn't bad. It gives the feeling of trees climbing up the hill all disappearing in the fog, whereas in the foreground you can see the details and the colors.
I know that this isn't a painting everyone would like but I hope there are still people who enjoy something which isn't mainstream stuff.

Many thanks Matt. Evergreens are made like Bill does them.

Thanks Nancy. The gray is a mixture of van Dyke Brown, Prussian blue and Alizarin crimson.
