Bay Of Islands - FINALLY!!

I have had this idea in my head for months that I am finally trying to put on canvas. In a nutshell, the idea goes like this: A wide mountain range in the background with a couple of foothills across the front of the mountains forming a nice reset bay for depth. Maybe even a distant cabin or 2 way back on the footies. In front of the mountain range is a large lake containing several islands.

This is by far the largest canvas I have ever attempted. This time I go with a massive canvas, 30" wide X 40" tall. I want to get at least 5 or 6 islands into the painting. I intend to include a nice cabin on one of the islands.

I am not calling this complete, but instead, end of phase 1. I think I will go back and add more stuff, like a couple partial islands after looking at this painting for a month or so :)
