African sunrise

Umagaan 18 Mar 2021

My first African landscape. I used liquid white so the sky is a bit too pink for my taste. I decided to call that a happy accident and dubbed the painting "sunrise". I loved painting the tree. So much fun. I think I'll add a silhouette of a giraffe once the painting is dry, to add some interest and movement. Painting this was so much fun... I really feel better if I have no clear expectations of what I'm going to paint. I'm really happy with how this one turned out. It was also very fast, maybe 1 hour to paint it. Loved it.

I got some real serious competition here concerning African paintings!
An excellent effort Umagaan!

BTW, forgot to tell I never use liquid white with those skies, always liquid clear to enhance the warm colouring!

Thanks Voy 😊
Yes I realized quite soon that using liquid white was not my best idea 😳😁

I should have informed you earlier, so sorry for that. From now on, try to use liquid clear BUT always keep in mind that you need to clean your brushes better (the tiniest leftover drop of thinner can ruin your painting) AND you cannot use any brushes dipped into thinner as well (except for special effects).

Thats a realy beautifull painting. The trees so intresting.

When the sun rises the animals wake up. It took them a while but now they're here. 🐵🐆

The monkeys try to be smart and hide high up in a tree. Little do they now perhaps that a leopard is about the best climbing cat ever, and can easily crawl 20 to 30 meters high up in a tree. Seen this with my own eyes in Kenya!

Your silhouettes are outstanding Umagaan, I am almost jealous! 😄😋😉

Lol Voy I love your story 😁
I find silhouettes on the internet and then paint them in, so no need for jealousy 😉 Your silhouettes are great too 😉🤗🤗
