I have two paintings that I want to do next: another go at Bob's Forest edge and a painting of Mt. Krn for my parents. So today I took an old canvas (that was already repainted like tree times) and practiced a bit. I want to do the big tree in Forest edge a bit differently than Bob so I tried painting it using the liner brush. I quite like the effect it makes. For the mountain... I usually just improvise the shapes and edges, so this time when I tried to recreate a photo it was really difficult. I think I'll need some more practice, pay really close attention to the angles and maybe mix three colors, one for light and two for different shadows. Well, since this was just a practice session and I didn't really have any expectations I'm quite satisfied with the result.
