So before I begin Bob's season 5 soon I wanted to share with you all my latest painting. Something totally different and that I never did before. My first ANIMAL OIL PAINTING! It took me about 3 hours. It's 12 by 16" on canvas instead of canvas board like I use for all my Bob paintings. I decided to expand my oil painting into animals, flowers and still-life, and hopefully portraits in the future. I'm learning now from "The Beauty of Oil Painting" by Gary and Kathwren Jenkins. Doing the B.R paintings have inspired me to try new things with oil paint. I think I did pretty good for my first time oil painting an animal.
I created this one for my Dad who passed away 6 years ago. It was his spirit animal. I'm getting a nice, fancy gold frame for it and it will be hung at the mausoleum where he is at the cemetery.
