Hi Toadi, the tree was freehand. The birds and the girl I outlined in pencil first before filling in with paint.

What caught my eye is her hair. I keep thinking there is a deep meaning that she grows as close to nature and hair is somewhat like roots to show that unity with the tree and maybe even lifecycle when trees grow on someone’s remains.
