How does painting with his tutorials compare to BR? Similar methods/techniques? I was thinking about giving it a try but wasn't sure if I should buy one or not.

If you go to his channel on Youtube and switch to Playlist => then to Other playlists you will find "Painting with you" series of 5-6 videos. Try that first and see how you like it. You always can buy lessons from his website.

@RosoLima I actually haven't paid for his lessons yet either, but might once I feel like I can't get much more out of his free youtube ones! He's similar to Bob Ross in some ways but uses more of the small filbert, flat, and round detail brushes, which I prefer over Bob's large brushes (partly because I find them easier to clean and dry lol). This is actually a good one of Kevin's to start with because it's really just a tree with vertical strands of green and then whatever fun texture you want to put into the grass!
