Original Creation

"Fire Lake" tutorial by CBI Bram

doggymommee8301 16 Feb 2021

This is my outcome of my paint date with @VoyKay over the weekend. Thank you again, Voy for our lovely few hours spent together. I had a lot of fun, and it was good to pick up a paintbrush again. It has been over three months, so I was a little rusty. I am thankful that I had my friend there (virtually) to help me out. This is a fun one to try, and you can find it on YouTube if anyone is interested. This was Voy Kay's second time painting "Fire Lake" so he used a different color scheme. Make sure you take a look at his creation! It turned out fabulous. And if I can offer the community any advice, you can't go wrong with a virtual paint date.

Doggymommee, rusty? Maybe? But it is a great one you got here! I am thinking about California forest fires when I look at your version, so I think if to take the name literally you succeeded with the giving a fire look to the painting!

Ha! That's what my sister said when she saw it. Said, "looks like there are fires happening." My color scheme in my house is grays, purples, and teals, so I actually want to re-do this one (kind of like how VoyKay did in yellow) to match my color scheme at home so I can hang it.

It really is reminiscent of the California forest fires! Poor California. I’m sure the real thing isn’t nearly so pretty. So glad to see you back from your painting break. Looks like you two had a lot of fun!

Voy Kay Conqueror of Challenges

Days after our date, I still have the warmth around me that we exchanged with our creations. Painting was one thing, friendship and sharing another. But for sure, it was always a win-win gathering.

The picture shows more then what I saw live. The water colouring is just brilliant and you controlled the water lines well! The middle land strip is just sparkling with vibrant colours, I so much love it!
What I learn here from you is that it is okay to add tree trunks where possible. Those really give accent and richness to the trees! Wonderful!

Thank you, my wonderful friend, for painting this creation together. Highly recommendable to all!

This is loaded with fire. Tree detail s and bushes are great.

Thanks all for your comments! And yes I agree with Voy, the painting together was the best part. Two Inch has been a wonderful place for me to find friends! Thanks to Felix for that.
