I was too early last year with my original version (https://www.twoinchbrush.com/originals/dracula/ruins-of-a-remote-castle-outpost-under-moonlight) of this concept for submission to the Halloween event, so I thought it would be fun to come up with a totally different take on it for this year's event!
I've mentioned recently in some other comments that I am trying to break the habit of overworking my paintings (as much). As such, this is a bit looser than I'm used to, but I am pleased to be able to see the paint texture in a way that I usually obscure over many sessions (in my original paintings). This was just one main session plus a quick detail pass. Typically, I would go at least two more rounds, regardless of size.
Speaking of size, this is 12"x9" on canvas-laminated panel.

This is lovely moonscape. Has a lonely feel to it.
