Had to take a break from Bob due to frustration. This is the first painting I am really happy with. I finally had an epiphany!

Oils

I was always stressed to follow Bob as he with this calm voice made me think I shall be calm and happy following his instructions. Almost every time that was not the case. I figured I will take my time and pause the video as many times as needed even if the painting will take 4-6 hours. It helped and it taught me be more patient. So I went to learn from other instructors quite fast just to avoid being mad. Oils is such medium which takes time to understand.
So try to look at your process from learning perspective and note things you learn. Many of the artists see things in their paintings they are unhappy about, but major solution is to figure out how to fix it. ( other instructors and brushes may be something that one needs to overcome challenges).
Another thing for me ti follow Bob was to watch episode few times before and never jump on it in the real time.
See Nick H. On Bob and Alexander Art channels on YouTube as they give more detailed instructions and maybe this is something you needed to overcome frustration.

This is quite pretty! Good job!

And take breaks for a cup of tea or coffee or water as it takes thoughts away and helps to see what happens on the canvas from a bit of the distance.

@Sunnylady - I have only been doing this since January and feel that I have learned so much. I do have to remember that I'm not Bob. Pausing the video does help, but I still seem to rush through. This one took 2 days.

This is very nice painting you did! A lot of greens and you nicely resolved it by having different shades of green color. Green in landscape is the most difficult color as it has multitude of shades and an artist need to find a proper one to make painting work. I like your blue flowers on the left as it totally gives perception that tree is in shadow.
Such a lovely meadow scene and nice work to create sun/shadow division.

Thank You all!

I felt frustration with Bob maybe first 6 months, then I found other instructors. So what I meant to say you are not alone. We are here to help if/when you need.

There were a LOT of times in my beginning of painting that I felt the same way. I think I put too much pressure on myself to make an exact duplicate of Bob's painting instead of just letting it flow, and learning from the experience. This painting is very pretty!! It is easy to tell that you were relaxed while creating this piece.

That’s a gorgeous painting!!! I had my share of frustrations as well. But over time, I started to get better at the technique, loading the brush, the consistency of my paint, the pressure on the canvas, etc, and like you, I had an epiphany. It feels good not to be stressed out when painting! I wish you tons of great fun paintings!
