1st View of Fuji: Lake Shoji at Dawn.
Based off of a photo taken on a cold, winter’s dawn, this is a view of Mt. Fuji from Lake Shoji. Much like the ukiyoe artist, Hokusai, I’m going to do my own collection of paintings done in the wet-on-wet style of different views of Fuji. Some of them will be recreations of Hokusai’s paintings, (I’m looking at you Great Wave Off of Kanagawa), but a majority of them will be of different seasons and different times through locations that surround Fuji. Will I get to 36 like Hokusai? We’ll see. But I’m certainly hoping some of them from when I eventually make it to Japan this year.

This trip for us will end up being a rescheduled one from 2020.

My daughter went to Tokyo a few years back, she wants to go back soon, loved it.
