Original Creation

Crystal Magic - Bill Alexander

jimbop 04 Nov 2023

This is my recreation of "Crystal Magic" by Bill Alexander.

I also decided to hop on this winter painting theme train πŸ˜€. This was really nice to do, mostly because of how simple it was, though I decided to leave out the big tree Bill does in the end as I felt like it did not suit this one so well. I also decided to add some of my own stuff here and there to make it more me.

I have been on a little break once again, so it was really great to paint today. I had some troubles with my new brush as my old one just broke down 😭.

Does anyone know a way to make the lines behind the canvas dissapear? I really don't like them and they are very noticeable here.

This was painted on a 50x70cm canvas.

Thank you.

Very nice Version πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺI can't say anything about the canvas problem, my formats are much smaller

Nice composition Jim, idk other than careful blending while it’s still wet. Maybe let it dry and paint a dark border around it?

Slip a sheet of card stock between the canvas and the stretcher bars. Works great. Nice work.

Beautiful and I would agree with Tomi on the card stock or cardboard to eliminate the lines!

Nice job Jim!

Nice job Jim. As far as the lines, I do what Tomi and Sandy suggested, except I use folded up paper towels (about 6 layers thick).

WOW!!! A+++++ my friend! I love the dominant white color! Great work!

BTW... I haven't forgotten to email you my little add-on secret. But I will do an article here on TIB on how to create them. So stand by! 😊

Thank you Dirk!

Thank you Brian! The lines faded away a bit after it dried and little blending, so thank you for your help!

Thank you Tomi! I will definitely try it out when I encounter this problem again!

Thank you Sandy!

Thank you rtparsjr!

Thank you Tony, I plan to make use for it!

Thank you Nancy! I saw the article you made, really helpful information!
