Black Cat - Angela Anderson

This acrylic painting is taken from a live tutorial of 1,2 hour on YT (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYF34ylkG6E) of course done on a black background, created by a layer of black gesso and a layer of smoother black acrylic paint. It was hard to get the right values for the hairs of the cat, I struggled in the beginning and started again more times. Finally I decided to make it not too difficult and gave it a go. The photo of the painting is taken in night mode, because the higlights of the hairs were much too strong, but the eyes are weaker in color now as in real. Learned the 'glace technique' by putting a watery layer on existing color, used for the shadow, highlight and reflection in the eyes. I did it on canvas panel of 30 x 24 cm.
