Moonlight Seascape - Buck Paulson

joha59 08 Mar 2023

This was for me the first turorial of this painter (thanks Dirk for sharing) and I liked the used colors the most. The layer of black medium on black canvas I will not use very much, because the colors are less bright then using only liquid clear. The technique of painting a seascape was different from Bob, but it was also more a Moonscape with most attention for the sky. On canvasboard 30 x 24 cm.

Hey Jos, the video leaves a lot of room for interpretation in the wave (indicated abstract) Was a real experience with Black on Black .The colors also made me paint it. Nicely doneπŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸΌ( Did you also pre-mix everything?? )

Hi Dirk, I premixed only the two colors for the sky. The black medium seems to eat up a lot of the colors, so next time (if there is) I will use only liquid clear. Indeed the color combination of blue, green and pink was nice to work with.

Okay, and you're right, the black medium eats a lot of color..It makes everything much greyer

Good morning Jos, I have a question: Do you ever have anything from Paul Ranson or Justin Wozniak, painted?

Hi Dirk, no never painted something from those two, should I?

Hi Jos, both of their kind very different but super good. I have both on the list. Watch a video of the two and decide if you like something.. I always find it interesting to try out the slight difference in technique and to see other solutions for the same result..
