If you want it lighter, you have to make it darker! Bill Alexander uses this slogan in the tutorial I have followed for this painting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTLYk3FseCk which is not very difficult and a nice game with colors and light. On canvasboard 30 x 24 cm.
