Paint with Josh tutorial...again...looked easy but wicked hard...also a lot of fun. Wasn't brave enough to put in the birds...but I'll get there. This is a 16x20 canvas.
The detail on the beach is very nice. I've been keeping a practice canvas nearby to use for details I'm uncomfortable with before adding them to the painting I've been working on for hours.

For the birds you can let the painting dry completely and then add the birds. That way if you don't like them you can just wipe them off.

Superb clouds but most amazing is that sandy beach! LOVE it!!
It's funny how sometimes your goes easier and better than others. I think it depends a lot on your mood. But yes, I agree it helps to practice certain elements when you're scarce of messing up after putting a lot of effort in. Try playing music quietly in the background, the slight distraction helps you paint more freely and often improves results. Your painting turned out beautiful.
