Original Creation

Cascading Creek and Jenny Lake

moai 16 Jun 2021

Painted on a 16 x 20 canvas. This is inspired by a photograph from the Tetons taken looking down Cascading Creek toward Jenny Lake. I simplified it by removing the downed trees in the creek.

Cliff on the left looks fantastic

Nice distance and realistic colors. Pines look awesome!

Thank you I did not add all the details from the photo with the debris in the stream and the dead looking pines with all kinds of branches. Also there were sun rays through the trees in the foreground and I have issues with making those in paintings acrylics and oils.

That debris would not benefit the painting. Itis your word and you can add or remove details! Also sun rays may be just photo and not in real life visible with naked eye. Thus adding or removing them needs to benefit the painting.
