Original Creation

Valley of the Infinite

I wanted to do something a little crazy now that I’ve been doing this for a while, so I decided let’s do a BIG one lol. This painting spans across 3 16x20 canvases. To be perfectly honest, I went into this with not too much planned out except the idea of a big sweeping valley with the sun rising in the center. A lot of painting is just winging it until it looks good, and that definitely was true with this one haha I’m really happy with the more subdued Yosemite style mountains on each side, and that bright sun burning through the center. Better put on some shades!

Incredible beauty you created here! the space in the painting reads very well!

Well done, as 3 stand alone pieces or combined, there is alot of nice things to gaze into.

Massive!

This is superb. I love the colour of the sky and the glow on the distant mountains. Great detail throughout especially the water line.

Absolutely gorgeous! I would feel really proud to have painted this, love every inch of it.

This must look breathtaking in person. Awesome! And I remembered my shades, too. 😎

Very nice!

One of the better originals (Bob isnpired) here on the site!

Composition, colouring, finishing .... I can watch this for hours!!

That SKY!!! And total it looks wonderful.

Fabulous, what a majestic creation, as Hado said the sky is wonderful but i think its eclipsed by the reflection in the water, a truly beautiful piece.

wowzers!!!!! Something you should be very proud of, it's gorgeus

Nice triple play!Love sky and aqua.Nice work!

What a great idea, this is such a beauty! Did you line these up and paint at the same time or separately? The oil colors are really outstanding.

Thank you ForestVueGallery! Yes, I lined them up right next to each other and painted them at the same time. It was definitely a challenge but it certainly helps keep the blending and colors cohesive.

I couldn’t think of any other way then what you did to keep colors consistent. Was part of the canvas black gesso?
Definitely quite a challenge and a real beauty.

Yes, everything that wasn’t the sky wasn’t black gesso: that was the only way I was able to achieve that bright sun look with the light spilling over the distant mountains.
