CREDIT DENIED
My latest painting isn’t just a scene—it’s a memory.
When I was a teenager, my dad finally got sober. He turned his life around, landed a great job, built strong credit, and saved for a down payment. I was with him the day we went to Bison Ford in Great Falls to buy a new truck.
He had everything lined up—20% down, clean credit.
But they denied him.
Not because of his income.
Not because of his credit.
Because he was Native.
I had never seen him so sad. He didn’t yell. He didn’t fight. He just sat there, quiet, shoulders slumped. Like someone who already knew how this would end, but still hoped maybe—just maybe—this time would be different.
This painting captures that moment. That heartbreak. That injustice.
And the truth is—it still happens.
To people of color. Every day. Even now.
Look him in the eyes.
If it breaks your heart a little… it should
Thank you my dear friend!
Touching my friend.Best,Pietro
Thanks Pietro.
Very moving painting and so sad that your family was treated this way!
Thanks Sandy. Not just my family. Many others too.
That's a story, for sure. Let's not forget that it happens to women, too. I'm white but this single mom could tell stories.
I bet!
I’m sad, for sure. So sorry that hate still creeps around and hurts people. It’s wrong and I hope and pray love will win someday.

Good morning my great friend, a sad story, a bad moment that tears your heart. Life also shapes us through mistakes that others do to us and perhaps this racist experience has also made you the great person you are today. You captured this sad moment in a great way. 👍🏼🇩🇪🇺🇸🔪..Greetings from Germany 👊🏼
