Rez Life - The Doll
Oil on Canvas 2025
This is reservation life.
Two rez dogs fight over a doll in the dirt outside a beat-up trailer. One window glows like it’s trying to hold back the dark. Broken-down cars sit sunken in the grass. Nobody’s watching. Nobody’s helping.
All of this—poverty, violence, neglect—playing out right below Glacier National Park. One of the most beautiful places on earth.
I grew up here. I’ve seen this with my own eyes.
This painting isn’t some imagined scene—it’s a memory stitched from a thousand quiet moments most people never see. It’s about contrast. Beauty and decay. Silence and struggle. What we try to forget—and what refuses to be forgotten
Heartbreaking the way the world is changing Bob. You did well to get that down on canvas and I am sure it will make people think. I'm not far away from the beautiful lakes in Cumbria and I took photos of Lake Windermere with the intention of painting it. Just learned the government have allowed the water company to pump raw sewage into it and its really put me off. I can't see it in the same way now.
Thank you Dirk!
Thanks Landscaper. Maybe through art we can help change our worlds.
Super contrast! I love the message here, these are the things I tend to dwell on too, the dualities of our reality
Good to hear from you Eduardo!

Good morning, Bob. I know how much you care about this topic. You have created a great balance between art and harsh reality. I hope your picture manages to create the attention it deserves. Have a nice Easter my friend👍🏼🇩🇪🔪
