Original Creation

Walleye Stamp Contest

rtparsjr 04 Feb 2025

I downloaded and carefully read the Minnesota DNR Walleye Stamp
Art competition requirements. Unfortunately, my original painting is 20” x 16” and the entry has to be 9” x 6.5” so… I had to paint it again! So, here is my entry. I won’t hear until later in the year if I win or not.

In the mean time, I’m painting a trout for the Trout Stamp contest. This time, I’ll start with 9” x 6.5”!

Good luck! It’s superb!

Hey Bob, I think I like the second one just as much as the first one. An excellent painting with winning potential. I hope you do the race. Really great job. Greetings from the knife workshop ( please check the last e mail , I think it's worth it😁)👍🏼🇩🇪🔪

Sounds like you've just rediscovered the old masters' technique of trying the painting in a smaller scale before talking the real piece. Very cool!

Maybe try to go even smaller (like 2 by 2 inches) first to find out what composition works for your painting and then scale up these thumbnail paintings

Ah forget my comment, I've misread the description 😁

Good luck and your piece is marvelous!

Thanks Steph!

Thanks Dirk!

I know what you meant Felix! I do that, but usually I sketch small and then paint large.

Thanks Sandy!

Again, very nice Bob, and good luck in the contest for the stamp.✌️🥇

Still a winner, Bob. Good luck!
