Oil on canvas, 2025 — Parsons
This piece honors Earl Old Person, Chief of the Pikuni Blackfeet, whose legacy and wisdom continue to watch over his people. When he passed, red and blue teepees were erected in Government Square across from the tribal offices, a quiet tribute to his life.
Here, he rises from the Sand Hills — a spirit in the starry sky — watching over his children and homeland, while the soft glow of the teepees below reminds us of the enduring connection between the past and present.
