Overall, I think the acrylic version was better. However, the oils did allow me to drop in the tree shadows, unify the color bands and add variation to the gesso black branches. It’s a toss up. Each has its merits.

I honestly prefer this one. The shadows, the added detail, and that touch of lavender in the sky all elevate the piece
