Original Creation

Ella at Chateau de Chaumont

tholmes79 15 Nov 2020

Princess Ella rolling around in the grass in front of a castle. I was gifted some 16x20 canvases so I used that size instead of the 18x24 I have been using and I really like the size of these.

Lovely creation! So much depth in it and that castle really stands out. That lighting in the grass from that sunset/sunrise .... BEAUTY! Although princess Ella for sure demands all attention for her.
Sheer poetry, yuour painting!

Voy Kay thank you for the great comment! I couldn’t decide if that’s a sunset or sunrise either. I have to figure out which direction that castle is facing.

Sunset or sunrise, this is beautiful! The castle is excellent!

Thanks ForestVueGallery!

Impressive castle!! I think about Alice in wonderland right away and wait when the flowers will be repainted. :)!

Ella brings so much joy into the landscape that Alice story melts and becomes unimportant.

Great memory Sunnylady! I forgot about that part of Alice in wonderland. This is like that haha.

Goodness! I am curious how long this took you? So much detail! I like all of the tulips (my favorite flower), and Ella reminds me of a dog I had years ago, so I can picture him in this scene happily rolling around in the grass on the other side of the rainbow bridge!

Thank you for the nice comment doggymommee! This probably took total of almost 12 hours. That might be a high guess but I drew it on the canvas on Sunday and painted it little by little every night after work until Saturday.

Thanks for sharing! I thought it would probably have been many hours given the detail. Really, VERY impressive. I love watching all of Ella's little journeys through your paintings.

I agree with doggemommee - it is so interesting like I am a kid and with every new painting with Ella , I turn new page and I hear a continuation of the story.

Thank you both. I look forward to doing more.
