This is my first oil painting on canvas.
I purchased the Bob Ross master paint set after watching his programmes for several weeks. These are being shown on UK's BBC 2 during the COVID-19 lockdown. So, I followed the booklet step by step instructions rather than watch the CD. It definitely took much longer than 1/2 hour! Never using oils before or this technique, I did find it hard layering up the paint colours with out them merging into a sludging shade. I love clouds! but found it difficult not to blend white into blue. I completed the painting in 2 stages. First day was sky, water, mountain and basic tree shapes. Second day, applied the hilights to trees and added the 'happy tree' with the footpath. I have received many positive comments from friends and family so, will keeping practicing with the oils mixing Ross techniques with my own style.
