Soothing Vista

Mgiese84 21 Dec 2021

This one, kind of to my surprise, had only been done three times prior. It's also a little different than most of Bob's pieces. I used a black canvas and covered the white area with liquid white and the remainder with liquid clear. It was quite enjoyable to do, especially the foreground grass.

A great creation! This is on my 'to do list' since spring yet never got around to paint it yet. The grass does scare me a bit but now that I see your version of it ..... WAW!!

Thanks Voy! I used the smallest fan brush I had for the grass. Load one side with cad yellow and the other with green and let the brush do the rest 😀

???? You used a fan brush for that? Not a one or two inch brush??

I am enormously surprised for the effect that was reached with a fan brush! I guess you applied the paint dead straight and gently then with that brush, right?

Oh maybe I misunderstood. The foreground tall grass I used the fan brush. The normal grass I used a combo of the 1" and 2"

Wonderful.

Thanks Brian!

My mistake Matt, I should've considered the difference of grass and lawn. English is only my 4th language and it shows now and then!

Yes, now I can fully understand the use of the brushes! Wonderful, I am taking this painting into consideration for 2022.

Great holidays to you and stay safe!
