16 x 20 inch. First painting in a few months. I always enjoy doing the birch trees. Is it common to take 3 - 4 hours to do a painting?

Nice job on the birch trees! I would say that if I were to paint this painting 16x20 it would take me about 2 1/2 hours. I have been painting for 6 months. Some paintings still take me 4 hours. Do not worry about your time. Just enjoy painting!
Lovely painting.. I love your water ... in my humble opinion it's not a race .. time doesn't matter at all .. but the time was definitely worth the time ! .. Sorry I missed this lovely painting well done

When painting is new to you, it can take a couple of hours, yes. Also depending on the canvas size used, the amount of coffee breaks and if you follow Bob along or pause the video a lot.
And yes, birch trees are a lot of fun to do!
