Cactus at Sunset

BeagleKnievel 18 Feb 2022

Another difficult one for me to photograph. Camera adds highlights on thick paint which is irritating, glare everywhere…
Really liked doing the sky in this one. I added transparent lavender at the top to blend with the crimson. Happy with that effect. The rock formations were a fun new experience. Overall I really like how this Southwestern fantasy scene turned out. 20x20.

Very nice job!

Sincere thanks to you two. Appreciate the compliments! Im going to miss this one as it’s a gift for a friend who moved back to the frozen tundra from New Mexico.

Beautiful painting. I feel your pain at giving it away. I learned that I simply have to keep a painting for a certain period of time before I can peacefully give it away.

Thanks Umagaan. That’s a good way to cope with letting go of a painting. I’ll remember that for the future and plan further in advance. I might paint this one again to keep and hope I like it as much!

Really good job. I love the colorful sky!
