Thanks Nancy! For the ducks I just found a photo online to reference, looked at it and then painted it. Lol idk I just was always able to look at something and draw or paint it.

As an accomplished student/teacher of the Bob Ross style, what do you think defines success when it comes to learning this method? I've always wondered if I'd learn more from following Bob as closely as possible, or if I should focus more on mastering composition and designing my own paintings.

Thanks for the compliment Jeff. I appreciate the question too. With the paintings Bob did I like to try and keep them as close to Bob's as I can. Biggest reason was I wanted my collection to resemble the originals the best as possible. However if I don't like one of Bob's or feel it needs something more I change it accordingly. I think once you learn all his tips and tricks then I would focus on designing your own paintings (unless you want to try and complete the entire JOP series). Once I'm done (only 20 left) I plan on taking all that I learned from Bob and using them in my own paintings. In particular I want to paint several pictures I took while vacationing. I've been lucky to see so much of the world and I do have a lot of neat pictures I took.

I think you’re wrong on this one sir. I think there’s a lot going on and it’s very lively. The ducks just take it up a notch. The highlights on your bushes and trees is so consistently good, it’s almost frustrating. (That’s a joke). Well done per usual..
