I have never painted before, but I have been wanting to try for a while. I would often watch Bob as a kid and periodically over the years. I was always captivated by the show. I tought I would start with the gesso forest inspired by season 28 episode 4. It seemed like an easier one to test things out. The bottom didn’t really work out as I wanted using the gesso so I just kept trying things. I was starting to be a mud mixer so I stopped. I thought a fence and cabin would help add some character to the foreground. I then went back with thinner paint and added some additional colour to give it a little depth and texture. It feels a little bit like two different paintings! But I guess it’s my little world. That’s just how it worked out. I was happy in the end. Lots to learn though. A Path to The Mystical Forest?…

Welcome Rob, and congrats on your first painting! It really does look like 2 different paintings 🙂 - BUT - there are some really nice elements. Great little cabin and nice job on the underpainting/trees!
