I was also infected by the "cabin-in-the-woods-virus", a nice and easy painting, but I think Bob's shingles on the roof were from a more expensive store than mine. On canvasboard 30 x 24 cm, I used a litlle bit of liquid clear to put the sapgreen/pt.blue smooth on the black canvas.
Thank you Nancy, I just loved the shingles Bob placed on his roof!
You always modify yours by doing what Bob did. He started with a bright red at the bottom and has he went up, he never reloaded his knife so it would get to a darker red back to his original roof color.
I have tried that too Nancy, but I think I started not bright enough.

What a great virus to be infected with! Jos, it looks amazing! I love how many more trees you have in your background. It makes the forest fuller and more spooky! Great grass! And your cabin’s roof is perfect. You shouldn’t compare yours to Bob’s. Because Bob just had his roof replaced. Yours has been there’s for a long time. Rustic is nicer! 😉
